The Clever Bear
Once a bear wanted to buy some honey,
But the shopkeeper said, “Only give me money.”
But the teddy bear did not have anything
And he could not even sing.
So he climbed up a tree
And told a bee,
“Sting him and hide behind the tar.
And I shall take a honey jar.”
But suddenly a very big cloud
Made a crackling sound loud
It suddenly began to rain
And the bear thought “I’ll have to break his windowpane.”
But the shopkeeper was still running his shop
And cleaning it with his mop.
So the bee went and stung him and flew away down
And the shopkeeper’s face turned brown.
He yelled, “Who has bitten me?”
If I find him I’ll hit him on his knee.”
But the bear hid behind a car
And took his favourite honey jar.
He gave some to the honey bee
And said, “Because I got it for free.
Who is cleverer than me?”
And drank the remaining honey with glee.
